Abilipad is a customisable keyboard and adaptive notepad, with word prediction and text-to-speech. The Keyboard Editor enables the user to quickly and easily create customisable layouts. It is possible to assign each key any letter, word, sentence or picture. It can merge cells together to form larger keys and create audio recordings. The user can select from various fonts and letter sizes and different colours can be used for the grid, keys and letters. The adaptive notepad provides scaffolding and support. It offers a distraction-free writing space, and word prediction in English, French, German and Spanish. The user can set the text style and include images from the image library or use personalised pictures. It is possible to add, duplicate and reorder pages and link keyboards to effortlessly shift between one to the next. In relation to text-to-speech, words are highlighted as they are spoken, letters, words and/or sentences can be sounded out and reading speed can be adjusted. There is also an AAC option with an easily accessible clear button. It is bluetooth enabled for use with a wireless keyboard and the user can insert text from emails, text documents or webpages to hear it read out loud. Many languages are available. It is good for organisation too. It offers an intuitive, user-friendly interface, it automatically saves work and it is possible to make changes and it will organise notepads and keyboards into folders. Abilipad files cn be exported via email or dropbox, keyboards and lessons can be shared with other Abilipad users and users can download ready-made activities from the Abilipad library.
